An athlete competes as a trans woman and &;aggressively&; claims the female prize: a ham.

The sporting participation of transsexual athletes -which usually takes place in the female category, by athletes who transition from the male gender-, as well as the disparity of regulations, usually gives rise to incidents and disparities of criteria, at least in these early days of the phenomenon.

One example was the incident that took place in San Pere de Torell├│ (Barcelona), during the Na&;dalt race , a time climb to the Bellmunt Sanctuary, a 3.8-kilometer route with a positive difference in altitude of 628 meters. According to La Vanguardia, a runner named Quima D. claimed the victory in the female category, despite beingfederated under a male name and sex and being a regular runner in that category.

According to sources of the organization, gathered by La Vanguardia, the runner and her companion claimed the victory and the corresponding prize in the female category, with &;aggressiveness and threats of denunciation&;. Finally it was decided to declare her provisional winner in the general classification, while Laia Montoya was proclaimed winner in the senior female category. Quima D., who was booed by the audience, received the corresponding prize: a ham. The organization assured that they will give another one to the winner in the senior female category.

The organization pointed out that in the future the regulations of the Federaci├│n d&;Entitats Excursionistas de Muntanya will be applied and that probably the sex stipulated in the DNI will be taken into account.
