FITUR Sports 2024 announces France 2024: Olympic and Sports Destination as Global Partner

FITUR Sports, a section specializing in sports tourism organized by AFYDAD (Spanish Association of Sporting Goods Manufacturers and Distributors) and FITUR, announces that A Tout France, France&;s Tourism Development Agency, will be its Global Partner. Together with the Nice Metropolitan Office and BCD SPORT (AVORIS Group), they will promote France 2024: Olympic and Sports Destination at the International Tourism Trade Fair.

During the Olympic Games, starting July 26, 2024, and with a calendar of 15 days of Olympic competitions and 10 days of Paralympic competitions, Paris will become the sporting heart of the planet. With an expected 3 billion television viewers and 206 Olympic delegations, the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games are an opportunity to position France as a sports tourism destination. Thus, 100 years after France hosted its last Summer Olympic Games, this event will allow the country to excel in terms of accessibility, inclusion and sustainability.

The FITUR Sports section consolidates in its second edition the boom in sports tourism and presents an expanded and comprehensive program with three days of conferences for professionals and activities during the weekend around three main themes: Outdoor Sports, Competitive Sports and Sports Events &; Sports Business Travel.

Wednesday, January 24: Outdoor Sports

With prominent speakers such as Francesc Boya, Secretary General for the Demographic Challenge, and María de Nova, Director General of Sports Systems and Values of the Regional Government of Andalusia, the role of sports tourism as a driver of socioeconomic development will be discussed.

FITUR Sports will also be attended by former cyclists such as Alberto Contador and Pedro Delgado, who will present the Total Energies Gran Fondo Alberto Contador in the town of Oliva.

In addition, FITUR Sports 2024 will maintain its momentum throughout the weekend by opening its monographic section on sports tourism to visitors. Thus, reflecting the trend in paddle tennis and how this sport is becoming an asset and ally of the tourism sector, the section will surprise with the installation of a paddle tennis court, which will host exhibition matches and clinics with renowned players and coaches, as well as sports content for the final public.
